Blog Lovin'

I am an avid reader. In my opinion there is nothing better than a good page turner or when I see my favorite magazine's new issue on stands. I know that I get to sit and read it cover to cover and explore all the new pictures and articles. It's awesome!

Now in addition to my books and magazine, I get to read blogs!!! I am so obsessed with reading them and I follow tons of them. I can't read them all on a daily basis, but I browse and check out as many as I can. There are are many awesome ones out there on every subject under the sun! Here is a website that compiles them all in one place for you. You can make a list of your favorites and follow them from there. It's super easy to join and much easier to follow your favorites. Don't forget to add mine to your list!

2011 Fall Look Books

For those of you not accustomed to browsing through look books or don't even know what they are...here is a crash course. Originally a fashion look book was used by a designer preparing for a run way show or for a photo shoot.  This book put a fashion look all together to help make sure the models had the right shoes with the right outfit and so on. As time past these books were a way for designers to show their collection, and today there are a way for everyone to know what looks are trendy for each season.

What I like about the look books is that you can see an entire "look" put together. So, if you like a skirt from the collection but have no idea how you would wear it you can see how the designer put it together in the  look book for inspiration.  I have put together some of my favorite looks from some of my favorite look books. I suggest you see the completed versions on their respective websites if only for the art of it. xoxo

Five things to brag about...

Five things to start off the week....

                            1.
Project Runway is back! If you like fashion you should tune in to this show. The artists are always so talented and it is amazing to see what they come up with out of nothing! Series started last week so you are not too late! Check it out at www.projectrunway.com Thursdays 9/8c

2.

How incredibly adorable is this? It actually seems pretty simple to do. All you need is a napping baby and sheets. My favorite is the bookworm one....so original and creative. Its quirky photography like this one that I admire most.

3.
{New Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe that I will be trying this week. I don't care what anyone says store bought cookie dough will never taste the same as home-made cookies.}
Get the recipe at www.realsimple.com

5.  I'm a big fan of the arts. Photography, dance, music and art are all ways for us to express ourselves and understand others. Below is just one of many dances that I adore. I hope you'll watch it and I hope it will inspire & move  you as it inspires me every time I see it.

This is a polished denim look that you can try this weekend with items that you probably already have in your closet. It's easy to put together and looks chic and classic.

I really love a sexy lace top with anything from cute shorts, skirts or in this case skinny jeans.  I adore the way Mrs. Cruise put it together (or her stylist anyway) from the color combination to the pink bra underneath. Great & easy look to copy!

Color me sexy! (hair trends)

Check out Ombré the hottest hair trend in Fashion & Hollywood right now! I have to admit that I am a  fan of any look that gives the illusion that you are not trying too hard and this hair trend does just that! I think it's cool, sexy and when done right (PLEASE make sure it's done right or it can go real wrong) it's fabulous. Check out the pics & how to video. Friends I would not try this at home!

Rachel Bilson                                               Hillary Duff

Okay so the key to getting the The Ombré look is to create a gradual gradual fade of colours that should either be very feathery and subtle, or if you like VERY dramatically obvious. I would go for subtle...just sayin'.
The difference between this and just letting your roots go wild is that over-grown roots typically look like two colours that don't match put side by side with an obvious borderline in between. With the Ombré it is obvious (when done right) that the effect was intended, with colours that compliment and fade into each other.
